Our Process

Authorne’s innovative design & crafting process inspires infinite designs and creations when it comes to a personalized motif or bespoke piece. This intimate process allows Authorne’s artist & creative director, Rachel, to craft pieces that not only are one-of-a-kind but speak to the soul of the wearer.

Learning about you

Our artist Rachel sits down with you over a cup of tea to begin the journey. Rachel takes the time to listen and understand your unique story and aspirations. Here we establish a deep connection with our clients so we can truly capture their individuality in the design.

Drawing the narrative

Inspired by your first encounter, Rachel will dream up some distinct designs just for you and present them in the form of artful sketches. During your next sit down together, you’ll discuss the sketches and decide on a design direction for the piece.

Realizing the vision

In this final sketching phase, we meticulously refine every detail of the piece. Capturing the essence of your vision from stone placement to your choice of metal and scale in our detailed sketches and precise renderings.

From resin to gold

Using these blueprints, our artisans 3D print a single-use mold in resin. Expertly balancing tradition and innovation to cast a timeless treasure in your choice of precious metal. We take pride in our craft, ensuring each piece is as exceptional as the person who wears it.

Taking it home

In the final stage of our process, we deliver the jewelry piece to you, ready to be worn and treasured for a lifetime. As we place the jewelry in your hands, we take pride in knowing that we have created a one-of-a-kind piece that reflects your individual style and personality.

About our artist, Rachel Bu

Rachel Bu is a Canadian-Chinese visual artist who lives and works in New York City. She transitioned her studio practice to contemporary fine jewelry in 2022, launching Authorne as a platform to continue the development of her wearable sculpture practice while offering the opportunity for bespoke commissions and one-on-one collaboration with her clients.
